SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMS

St Joseph’s offers a parish-led, school-supported sacramental program to support our Catholic families.

OUR SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMS

The school recognises the parents as the first and most important educators of their child. In essence, a child’s religious education and faith life begins at home. The experiences children have at home will be the primary influence on their faith development. Teachers strive to build on the firm foundations already laid by the parents. This means that teachers and parents are partners in teaching children about how they can best live their faith.

In the Goldfields Parish, our sacramental program is a parish-based, family-centred and school-supported program. Essentially, this means that the school is primarily responsible for the religious instruction of the children as they prepare for the sacrament, and the parents, together with the parish, are responsible for the celebration of the sacrament.

Children in Years Three, Four and Six are prepared for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation respectively.  Parents are an integral part of this preparation.  The sacramental program is designed to deepen both your knowledge and your child’s knowledge of the sacraments and the teachings that your child will receive in class.
