Catholic Sacramental Program

St Joseph’s offers a parish-led, school-supported sacramental program to support our Catholic families.

St Joseph’s School’s Sacramental Program is a central expression of our Catholic identity and is grounded in a strong, living partnership with our parish community. Sacramental preparation is approached as a shared responsibility between the school, family, and parish, ensuring that students grow not only in knowledge of the sacraments but also in faith, belonging, and active participation in parish life. Through regular engagement with the parish priests and pastoral team, the program remains firmly aligned with parish expectations, liturgical practices, and diocesan guidelines.

Ongoing collaboration with the parish-based PREP (Parish Religious Education Program), run by the Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity, is a defining feature of our approach. This collaboration includes shared planning, communication, and key formation sessions, as well as joint celebrations and parent information meetings. By working together, the school and PREP create a unified pathway of faith formation that reflects the parish’s sacramental vision and pastoral priorities.

Families are actively supported throughout the sacramental journey and are encouraged to deepen their connection with the parish through Mass attendance, prayer, and parish involvement. Catechesis provided at school is reinforced by parish-led liturgies, retreats, and sacramental celebrations, helping students experience the sacraments as encounters with Christ within the wider Church community. Through this deep parish connection and ongoing partnership with PREP, the school’s Sacramental Program nurtures students as confident, faith-filled members of the Catholic Church, grounded in both learning and lived faith.
